ICU Registered Nurse travel contract in Burlington, MA — Trauma Level I critical care RN role, 8-week assignment near Boston. Seeking experienced Critical Care RNs with 2–5 years ICU experience and EPIC proficiency.
Job Details
- Job Title: ICU Registered Nurse / Critical Care RN (Travel Nurse)
- Location: Burlington, MA 01805 (Greater Boston area) — Massachusetts nursing jobs. - Contract Duration: 8 weeks (April 27, 2026 – June 20, 2026)
- Hours: 36 hours per week
- Shift: 12-hour rotating shifts (4-week blocks: 7a-7p then 7p-7a; every other weekend required)
- Unit: Nursing Float Pool (ICU and PCU as needed)
- Employment Type: Travel Contract / Travel Nurse assignment
- Guaranteed Hours: 72 hours biweekly (does not include on-call time)
- Facility: Trauma Level I hospital — experience in high-acuity critical care preferred
- Note: Facility is not accepting local candidates; must be separated from system for at least 6 months
Qualifications & Requirements
- ASN (Associate of Science in Nursing) required
- Current Massachusetts RN license (compact license not accepted unless MA granted)
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- EPIC EMR experience required — strong documentation and charting skills
- 2–5 years of ICU experience required; Trauma Level I facility experience preferred (Level II considered)
- Previous travel nursing experience preferred — ICU travel nurse experience a plus
- Telemetry test (tele test) administered on first day (pass/fail)
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, compassionate critical care to adult and/or mixed ICU patients
- Float between ICU and PCU as needed; function effectively in a Nursing Float Pool
- Perform assessments, medication administration, ventilator management, and hemodynamic monitoring as appropriate
- Utilize EPIC EMR for accurate documentation, orders, and patient management
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (physicians, respiratory therapy, pharmacists, case management) to optimize patient outcomes
- Adhere to facility protocols, safety standards, and infection control practices
- Work rotating 12-hour shifts and every other weekend as scheduled
