- Shift: 12-hour nights (19:00-07:00) — night shift pediatric RN
- Hours per Week: 36
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,800 – $1,890
- Weekend Requirement: 3 weekends every 6 weeks
- Unit: Neuro / Ortho / Pediatrics (24 beds; patient ratio ~1:6)
- Float Requirement: Yes — may float to other inpatient units
Job Requirements
- Active RN license (ability to obtain Michigan license prior to start preferred)
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or higher; BSN preferred for some travel nursing roles
- BLS (Basic Life Support) required
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification preferred
- Minimum 2 years of adult RN experience required; pediatric experience highly valued for pediatric RN roles
- Comfortable caring for patients >28 days of age across pediatric, neuro, and orthopedic populations
- Ability to float to other inpatient units as needed
- Team-oriented with strong communication and collaboration skills
- Galaxy Blue scrubs required
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality pediatric nursing care to patients in a 24-bed Neuro/Ortho/Pediatrics unit
- Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions and clinical progress
- Administer medications, IV therapy, and treatments as prescribed
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (physicians, therapists, case management) to develop and implement patient care plans
- Educate patients and families on care plans, procedures, discharge instructions, and safe home care
- Float to other inpatient units as required by staffing needs
- Maintain compliance with hospital policies, clinical protocols, and patient safety standards
