Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,800 - $1,890
- Employment Type: Travel Contract / Travel RN assignment
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks (April 13, 2026 – July 13, 2026)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Shift: 12-hour Nights (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM)
- Location: Leading hospital in Asheville, NC (Buncombe County)
- Unit: 5 West Medicine (36 beds) — Trauma / Medical Telemetry unit
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license in North Carolina or compact state (required)
- BLS certification (American Heart Association)
- Minimum 1 year recent experience in Trauma nursing, Medical Telemetry, or Med-Surg with telemetry
- Proficient in Cerner EMR and remote telemetry monitoring
- Strong teamwork, communication, and critical thinking skills in fast-paced environments
- CMSRN certification encouraged
- Leadership/Charge Nurse experience preferred
- BSN preferred
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced Trauma/Medical Telemetry unit
- Perform rapid assessment, triage, and ongoing monitoring using medical remote telemetry
- Use Cerner EMR for accurate documentation and care planning
- Prepare patients for procedures (Endoscopy, IR, OR) and provide peri-procedural nursing support
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including RNs, CNAs, HUCs, sitters, and providers
- Float to sister Med-Surg units (3W, 5W, K8) as needed
- Adhere to unit policies, professional dress code (Navy Blue or White scrubs), and patient safety standards
- Participate in scheduled weekend shifts (6 per 6-week schedule; for night shift, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday all count as weekend shifts)
