- Location: A leading hospital in Asheville, NC (28801) — Asheville nursing jobs / North Carolina travel nursing
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks
- Shift: 12 Hour Nights (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Employment Type: Travel RN, On-Site
- Unit: 4 West Adult Med-Surg (34 beds) — Trauma RN / Med-Surg RN role
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend or 6 weekend shifts per pay period
Job Requirements
- Active RN license
- BLS certification required (AHA)
- At least 1 year of recent Trauma or Med-Surg RN experience (travel nursing or acute care preferred)
- Telemetry rhythm interpretation skills
- Critical thinking, time management, and strong communication skills
- Punctuality and ability to work collaboratively with the healthcare team
- ACLS certification preferred
- Experience with Cerner EMR is a plus
Responsibilities
- Assess, monitor, and manage adult med-surg and trauma patients; escalate to Charge RN or Rapid Response as needed
- Administer IV fluids, IV antibiotics, tube feeds and PEG feedings; manage lines and drains per unit policy
- Provide trauma nursing care and med-surg nursing interventions in a fast-paced hospital setting
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including CNAs, other RNs, and ancillary staff
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation using Cerner EMR
- Float to other med-surg units or ED holding pod as required to support patient flow
- Participate in shift huddles and follow HCA policies and unit guidelines
