Job Details

• Position: Trauma Registered Nurse (RN) – Travel Nurse
• Location: Asheville, NC 28801 (Asheville, North Carolina; Blue Ridge Mountains)
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (March 30, 2026 – June 29, 2026)
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,080 - $1,130
• Hours per Week: 36
• Shift: 12-hour nights (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM)
• Unit: 4 West Adult Med-Surg (34 beds) — trauma/med-surg focus
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend (or 6 weekend shifts per pay period)

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in North Carolina or compact state (Registered Nurse)
• BLS certification from AHA required
• Minimum 1 year recent trauma or med-surg nursing experience (travel nursing or permanent)
• Telemetry rhythm interpretation skills
• Strong critical thinking, time management, communication, and teamwork skills

Preferred Certifications

• ACLS certification preferred

Key Responsibilities

• Assess, monitor, and manage trauma and med-surg patients; escalate changes in acuity to Charge RN/Manager/Rapid Response/Provider
• Administer IV fluids, IV antibiotics, tube feeds and PEG feedings as ordered
• Provide telemetry monitoring and interpret rhythms to support patient safety
• Document accurately in Cerner EMR and maintain patient records per facility policy
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (physicians, RRTs, CNAs, therapists) to deliver high-quality care
• Float to other med-surg units or ED holding pod as needed and participate in unit huddles
• Support CNAs and fellow nurses; demonstrate teamwork and patient-centered care
