Job Details
- Position: Trauma Registered Nurse (RN) – Travel Nurse
- Location: Asheville, NC 28801 (Asheville, North Carolina; Blue Ridge Mountains)
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks (March 30, 2026 – June 29, 2026)
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,080 - $1,130
- Hours per Week: 36
- Shift: 12-hour nights (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM)
- Unit: 4 West Adult Med-Surg (34 beds) — trauma/med-surg focus
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend (or 6 weekend shifts per pay period)
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license in North Carolina or compact state (Registered Nurse)
- BLS certification from AHA required
- Minimum 1 year recent trauma or med-surg nursing experience (travel nursing or permanent)
- Telemetry rhythm interpretation skills
- Strong critical thinking, time management, communication, and teamwork skills
Preferred Certifications
- ACLS certification preferred
Key Responsibilities
- Assess, monitor, and manage trauma and med-surg patients; escalate changes in acuity to Charge RN/Manager/Rapid Response/Provider
- Administer IV fluids, IV antibiotics, tube feeds and PEG feedings as ordered
- Provide telemetry monitoring and interpret rhythms to support patient safety
- Document accurately in Cerner EMR and maintain patient records per facility policy
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (physicians, RRTs, CNAs, therapists) to deliver high-quality care
- Float to other med-surg units or ED holding pod as needed and participate in unit huddles
- Support CNAs and fellow nurses; demonstrate teamwork and patient-centered care
