ICU RN Job Requirements / Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (compact or state-specific as required)
- Minimum 1 year of recent ICU / critical care experience (preferred: medical or surgical ICU)
- BLS certification (required)
- ACLS certification (preferred)
- Strong critical thinking, clinical assessment, and communication skills
- Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced ICU environment and work effectively with interdisciplinary teams
Key Responsibilities — ICU Registered Nurse (Travel)
- Provide high-quality critical care and patient-centered nursing in the Intensive Care Unit
- Monitor and assess critically ill patients, interpret vital signs, and recognize changes in condition
- Administer medications, manage IVs, titrate drips, and perform complex clinical interventions per protocol
- Respond to emergencies and provide advanced life support as needed (ACLS skills)
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Document patient status, interventions, and progress in accurate medical records
- Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatment plans, and recovery expectations
