• Position: CVICU Registered Nurse (RN) – Travel Nurse (Cardiovascular ICU RN)
• Location: Asheville, NC 28801 (Asheville, North Carolina travel nursing)
• Setting: Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) / Cardiac ICU
• Assignment Type: Travel
• Start Date: March 30, 2026
• End Date: June 29, 2026
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,910 – $2,010
• Hours per Week: 36 scheduled, 48 hours guaranteed pay
• Shift: 12-hour days (6:45 AM – 7:15 PM), alternating weekends
• Unit Size: 16 beds
• Orientation: 4-hour hospital orientation + 8-hour floor shift
• Dress Code: All navy, all white, or navy/white combination

Qualifications & Requirements

• Active RN license (compact license accepted where applicable)
• Minimum 1 year recent ICU experience required; CVICU or cardiac ICU experience strongly preferred
• Critical care skills: titration of vesicants, vasopressors, sedatives, paralytics, and advanced ventilator management
• Experience with tracheostomies, telemetry interpretation, invasive hemodynamics, and PA catheter setup/interpretation
• Familiarity with transvenous pacing, cardioversion, TEE, and chest tube insertion/maintenance
• Advanced device experience (highly desirable): IABP, Impella, CRRT
• Ability to float to related units as needed; strong teamwork and communication skills
• Comfortable documenting in Cerner EMR and following hospital policies

Responsibilities (ICU RN / Critical Care Nurse)

• Deliver high-quality, evidence-based nursing care to critically ill cardiovascular patients in the CVICU
• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms, hemodynamics, and respond to rapid patient condition changes
• Administer and titrate critical medications including vasopressors, inotropes, sedatives, and paralytics
• Manage advanced life support equipment: mechanical ventilators, IABP, Impella, and CRRT
• Assist with and perform procedures including cardioversion, central line care, EGD, bronchoscopy, chest tube management, pericardiocentesis, and thoracentesis
• Provide accurate, timely documentation using Cerner EMR and communicate care plans with multidisciplinary teams
• Maintain a safe, compliant clinical environment and adhere to hospital dress code
