Travel Nurse Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,040 – $2,150
• Location: Aurora, CO 80045 — Denver area (Colorado nursing jobs, Aurora travel nurse)
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (May 4, 2026 – August 3, 2026)
• Shift: Rotating 3x12-hour shifts (Days: 07:00–19:30, Nights: 19:00–07:30)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Weekend Requirement: 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule period
• Unit: 24-bed CT ICU specializing in open-heart surgeries, ventricular assist devices (VAD), heart and lung transplants, ECMO, aortic aneurysm repair, vascular and thoracic surgeries
• Patient Ratios: Based on acuity (1:2, 1:1, or 2:1)
• Charting: Epic
• Scrub Color: Navy

CVICU Registered Nurse Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of recent CVICU experience — strong cardiac ICU nurse background
• Active Colorado RN license or Compact RN license (Colorado nursing jobs)
• AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Trauma Level II experience required
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Previous charge or leadership experience preferred
• Ability to float within scope to meet facility needs
• First-time travel nurses accepted — excellent travel nurse opportunity

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-acuity care for critically ill adult patients undergoing advanced cardiovascular and thoracic procedures as a CVICU RN
• Manage and monitor patients with ventricular assist devices (VAD), ECMO, and post-transplant care
• Administer vasoactive medications and provide comprehensive cardio-pulmonary support
• Perform ICU-level assessments, titrate drips, manage invasive lines, and support post-op open-heart surgery patients
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team focused on holistic care, patient education, and improved outcomes
• Utilize Epic for accurate charting and documentation (critical care documentation, ICU charting)
• Float to like units as needed to support patient care and maintain unit staffing
• Adhere to isolation precautions and infection prevention protocols
