Travel Nurse Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,040 – $2,150
- Location: Aurora, CO 80045 — Denver area (Colorado nursing jobs, Aurora travel nurse)
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks (May 4, 2026 – August 3, 2026)
- Shift: Rotating 3x12-hour shifts (Days: 07:00–19:30, Nights: 19:00–07:30)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Weekend Requirement: 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule period
- Unit: 24-bed CT ICU specializing in open-heart surgeries, ventricular assist devices (VAD), heart and lung transplants, ECMO, aortic aneurysm repair, vascular and thoracic surgeries
- Patient Ratios: Based on acuity (1:2, 1:1, or 2:1)
- Charting: Epic
- Scrub Color: Navy
CVICU Registered Nurse Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of recent CVICU experience — strong cardiac ICU nurse background
- Active Colorado RN license or Compact RN license (Colorado nursing jobs)
- AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Trauma Level II experience required
- Epic charting experience preferred
- Previous charge or leadership experience preferred
- Ability to float within scope to meet facility needs
- First-time travel nurses accepted — excellent travel nurse opportunity
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-acuity care for critically ill adult patients undergoing advanced cardiovascular and thoracic procedures as a CVICU RN
- Manage and monitor patients with ventricular assist devices (VAD), ECMO, and post-transplant care
- Administer vasoactive medications and provide comprehensive cardio-pulmonary support
- Perform ICU-level assessments, titrate drips, manage invasive lines, and support post-op open-heart surgery patients
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team focused on holistic care, patient education, and improved outcomes
- Utilize Epic for accurate charting and documentation (critical care documentation, ICU charting)
- Float to like units as needed to support patient care and maintain unit staffing
- Adhere to isolation precautions and infection prevention protocols
