- Setting: MICU (Medical Intensive Care Unit) / Medical ICU
- Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM), rotating weekends
- Hours per Week: 36
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,460 – $1,540

MICU RN Requirements / Qualifications
- Active Texas Registered Nurse (RN) license (temporary licenses not accepted)
- Minimum 2 years of recent MICU / MSICU experience as a Critical Care Nurse
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- CCRN certification preferred
- Proficient with ICU equipment including ventilators, NXStage, Arctic Sun, and GE Cardiac Output monitor
- Familiarity with Meditech electronic medical record (EMR) documentation preferred
- Ability to float to other units as needed based on patient acuity and staffing
- Compliance with hospital dress code (Royal Blue scrubs; no artificial nails, visible piercings, or extreme hair styles/colors)
MICU Registered Nurse Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, compassionate critical care nursing to medically complex, critically ill patients in the MICU
- Perform and assist with ICU procedures including central line management, thoracentesis, dialysis catheter care/placements, cardioversions, and intubations
- Monitor and manage patients using advanced ICU monitoring and life support equipment
- Accurately document patient care and clinical assessments in Meditech (EMR)
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, and the interdisciplinary care team to achieve optimal patient outcomes
- Float to other units as required based on patient acuity and staffing needs
- Maintain a safe, clean work environment and adhere to all hospital policies and infection control protocols
