Job Requirements / Qualifications

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina or a valid compact state RN license
  • Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg nursing experience (medical-surgical RN, acute care)
  • Experience with Cerner Electronic Health Record (Cerner EHR)
  • BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Ability to float to other units within the facility as needed (flexible travel nurse)
  • Strong clinical skills managing common diagnoses: pneumonia, COPD, CHF, CVA/stroke, and oncology-related care
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and patient-focused care skills

Primary Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality, compassionate care to adult and geriatric patients on the Med/Surg unit (medical-surgical nursing duties)
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary healthcare team
  • Monitor patient progress, recognize changes in condition, and escalate concerns appropriately
  • Administer medications, treatments, and procedures per orders and facility policy
  • Accurately document all patient care using Cerner EHR (clinical documentation)
  • Float to other units within the hospital as required to support patient care needs
  • Maintain a safe, clean work environment and adhere to hospital policies and infection control standards
