• Position: CVOR Registered Nurse (Travel RN) – Cardiovascular Operating Room / Cardiac OR Nurse
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Start Date: May 4, 2026

• Setting: Acute Care – CVOR and Main OR (perioperative setting)
• Shifts: 8-hour days (6:30am–3:00pm); team may start at 5:30am for CABG cases
• Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,750 – $2,890 (competitive travel nurse pay)
• On-Call: Weeknight and weekend call required; must be within 45 minutes during call
• Scrubs: Provided
• EMR: Epic

Job Requirements / Qualifications

• Active Illinois RN license (must be in hand at time of submission)
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of recent CVOR RN experience (cardiac surgery, CABG, valve procedures preferred)
• Experience with Ortho, Neuro, and Vascular cases in the main OR; perioperative nursing experience highly valued
• Proficiency with Epic EMR for documentation
• Ability to scrub and circulate for CVOR and main OR cases
• Valid driver’s license and ability to respond within 45 minutes while on call
• Preferred: previous travel nursing experience or prior CVOR travel assignments

Responsibilities

• Circulate and scrub in the Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) and main OR as needed
• Assist with common cardiac cases including CABG, TAVR, valve procedures, Impella, and IABP
• Float to the main OR when CVOR caseload is light, supporting ortho, neuro, and vascular cases
• Participate in on-call rotation for weeknights, weekends, and holidays; maintain readiness to respond within 45 minutes
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, perfusionists, and the perioperative team to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Perform sterile technique, surgical instrumentation, and perioperative patient care per CVOR protocols
• Document assessments, intraoperative events, and post-op care using Epic EMR
