- Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, 12-hour night shifts (Night Shift, ICU RN)
- Hours per Week: 48 hours (4 x 12-hour shifts)
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,910 – $2,010 (Competitive pay for travel nursing in Kentucky)
Required Qualifications (ICU RN / Critical Care Nurse)
- Active RN license (must be eligible to practice in Kentucky)
- Minimum 1 year of recent ICU experience (5 years preferred) — critical care nursing experience required
- Travel nursing experience required
- ACLS certification (required within 90 days of start; must be completed before orientation ends)
- NIH Stroke Scale certification (required within 90 days of start; must be completed before orientation ends)
- EKG/Arrhythmia Interpretation Test
- TNCC certification preferred
- Ability to speak, read, and write English fluently
ICU Registered Nurse Responsibilities (Critical Care RN)
- Provide direct, comprehensive critical care nursing to critically ill patients in the intensive care unit (ICU), including airway management, ventilator support, pain management, and post-operative care
- Perform thorough assessments and re-assessments; maintain accurate documentation of patient histories, conditions, treatments, and responses
- Administer medications, specialized IV drips, titratable infusions, and transfusion therapy; manage invasive monitoring equipment
- Assist with and perform specialized procedures; operate advanced ICU equipment and monitors
- Lead and respond to Code Blue and rapid response situations in designated areas
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (physicians, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, case management) to deliver coordinated critical care
- Educate patients and families on treatment plans and clinical status; involve them in care planning
- Supervise, mentor, and support other healthcare staff as a clinical resource and team leader
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, evidence-based practice, and ongoing professional development
- Adhere to infection control practices, patient safety standards, and hospital policies at all times
