Join a dedicated team as a Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (L&D RN / Maternity Nurse) in Newton Lower Falls, Massachusetts. This 13-week travel nursing contract offers a Boston-area, on-site opportunity to provide exceptional care to mothers and newborns in a supportive hospital environment. Newton Lower Falls is a picturesque suburb of Boston with easy access to city amenities.
Job Details — Travel Nursing / Labor & Delivery
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,130 - $2,250 (competitive pay for Travel RN)
- Location: Newton Lower Falls, MA (02462) — Boston-area, Massachusetts travel nursing
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks (May 3, 2026 – August 1, 2026)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Shift: 12-hour rotating day/night shifts (7:00am–7:30pm or 7:15pm–7:15am), every other weekend and rotating holidays
- Employment Type: Travel RN, On-site
- Unit: 5 South - Labor & Delivery (L&D, maternity, postpartum)
Job Requirements — Registered Nurse (RN) Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Massachusetts (MA)
- Minimum 1 year of Labor & Delivery (L&D) clinical experience; postpartum and newborn care experience preferred
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
- Completion of required onboarding and orientation modules prior to start
- Willingness to work rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Submission of resume, professional references, and completed skills checklist for Labor & Delivery
Responsibilities — Labor & Delivery Nurse Duties
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to laboring mothers, support during delivery, and postpartum/newborn care
- Monitor maternal and fetal status, recognize changes, and respond to emergent situations
- Collaborate with OB physicians, midwives, neonatology, and multidisciplinary care teams to ensure safe outcomes
- Administer medications, assist with deliveries and procedures, and support pain management interventions
- Perform newborn assessments, initial stabilization, and routine postpartum newborn care
- Educate patients and families on labor, delivery, postpartum recovery, breastfeeding, and newborn health
- Maintain accurate electronic documentation and adhere to hospital policies, safety protocols, and quality standards
