• Assignment Type: Travel Nurse / Travel RN
• Location: Petersburg, VA 23805 (Virginia travel nursing)
• Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 5/11/2026 – End: 8/8/2026)
• Shift: 12-hour nights (telemetry nurse schedule), every other weekend and major holidays
• Hours per Week: 36
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,020 – $2,130
• Unit: Med/Surg Tele (30 beds/bays; may float to other MS/Tele units)
• Patient Population: Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics

Job Requirements / Qualifications

• Active RN license in Virginia or a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) state
• BLS certification (required prior to direct patient care)
• Minimum 1 year recent acute care RN experience (Med/Surg/Telemetry experience preferred)
• At least 1 year of travel nursing experience required
• Dysrhythmia exam required (study guide provided)
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility (proof of address required)
• Ability to float to other Med/Surg Tele units as needed
• Preferred certifications/skills: ACLS, CCRN, PCCN, NIH Stroke Certification, CAPD experience, EPIC EHR training

Key Responsibilities

• Perform initial and ongoing patient assessments and develop individualized care plans for med/surg and telemetry patients
• Administer medications safely and document according to hospital policies and Med/Surg Tele protocols
• Monitor cardiac telemetry, interpret dysrhythmias, and respond to changes in patient condition
• Coordinate patient care and communicate effectively with interdisciplinary teams, providers, and families
• Provide care for patients with multi-system organ failure, trauma, and complex medical needs
• Manage patients with chest tubes, BiPAP/CPAP, tracheostomies, tube feeds, and advanced respiratory modalities
• Perform phlebotomy and collaborate with CNAs and sitters to ensure safe, high-quality patient care
• Maintain patient safety, advocate for patient needs, and participate in quality improvement initiatives
• Demonstrate professionalism, adaptability, and strong communication in a fast-paced telemetry/acute care environment
