• Shift: 12-hour days (07:00 AM - 07:30 PM)

Job Requirements / Qualifications

• Active RN license (Emergency Room specialty required). Connecticut RN license or compact licensure accepted where applicable.
• Minimum 1 year of recent Emergency Room nursing experience (ED RN / ER RN experience preferred)
• Ability to manage ED and inpatient hold RN ratios/acuity in a fast-paced acute care setting
• Weekend rotation required
• Up-to-date immunizations and health screenings (COVID-19, MMR, Hepatitis B, Influenza, Varicella, Tdap, 2-Step PPD or IGRA)
• Successful completion of competency and skills checklists; physical/health statement and respirator evaluation
• Background check and education verification
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) required; ACLS and PALS preferred (common ED certifications)

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality patient care in the Emergency Department—assess, triage, and manage patients across a range of acuity levels
• Assess, triage, and prioritize patient needs in a fast-paced environment using ED nursing best practices
• Administer medications, treatments, and interventions as ordered; manage acute and critical care presentations
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (physicians, techs, case management) to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Document patient care accurately and timely in the electronic medical record
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies, ED protocols, and safety standards
• Participate in scheduled weekend rotations and support department staffing needs as a travel nurse
