- Setting: Emergency Department (ED) / Emergency Room (ER)
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 5/3/2026, End: 8/1/2026)
- Shift: 12-hour days (07:00 AM - 07:30 PM)
- Hours per Week: 36 hours

Job Requirements / Qualifications
- Active RN license (Emergency Room specialty required). Connecticut RN license or compact licensure accepted where applicable.
- Minimum 1 year of recent Emergency Room nursing experience (ED RN / ER RN experience preferred)
- Ability to manage ED and inpatient hold RN ratios/acuity in a fast-paced acute care setting
- Weekend rotation required
- Up-to-date immunizations and health screenings (COVID-19, MMR, Hepatitis B, Influenza, Varicella, Tdap, 2-Step PPD or IGRA)
- Successful completion of competency and skills checklists; physical/health statement and respirator evaluation
- Background check and education verification
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) required; ACLS and PALS preferred (common ED certifications)
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality patient care in the Emergency Department—assess, triage, and manage patients across a range of acuity levels
- Assess, triage, and prioritize patient needs in a fast-paced environment using ED nursing best practices
- Administer medications, treatments, and interventions as ordered; manage acute and critical care presentations
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (physicians, techs, case management) to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Document patient care accurately and timely in the electronic medical record
- Maintain compliance with hospital policies, ED protocols, and safety standards
- Participate in scheduled weekend rotations and support department staffing needs as a travel nurse
