Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio or a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) state
• Minimum 2 years recent Med/Surg Telemetry (Med-Surg/Tele) experience
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Dysrhythmia exam required (study guide available)
• Experience with surgical drains and post-op orthopedic care preferred
• Strong communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills

Core Responsibilities

• Perform initial and ongoing patient assessments and develop individualized care plans for Med/Surg and telemetry patients
• Administer medications, titrate infusions, and monitor patient responses
• Manage care for orthopedic, trauma, and select medical patients (post-op backs, hips, knees, bariatric surgery, UTI, appendicitis)
• Monitor and manage lines, drains, and devices (Hemovac, True-close, JP drains)
• Utilize unit equipment including Alaris pumps and specialty beds (e.g., Hercules)
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and act as a point of contact for care coordination
• Provide patient and family education, discharge planning, and emotional support
• Maintain patient safety, advocate for quality care, and respond confidently in emergencies
