• Location: Geneva, NY 14456 – Finger Lakes, upstate New York; New York nursing jobs and travel nurse opportunity
• Job Title: Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) / Perioperative RN / Surgical Nurse (Travel)
• Contract Length: 16 weeks (travel contract)
• Start Date: May 11, 2026
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,980 – $2,080 (competitive pay for travel nursing)
• Schedule: Full-time, weekdays (4x9 hour shifts: 6:30/7:30am – 3:30/4:30pm)
• On-Call: Required – 1 weekday on-call per week and approximately 3 full weekends during the contract
• Setting: Float between Geneva General Hospital and Finger Lakes Surgery Center (hospital and ambulatory surgery center experience preferred)

Job Requirements / Qualifications

• Active New York State RN license (required for New York nursing jobs)
• Minimum 1 year of recent Operating Room RN / perioperative nursing experience
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications (AHA or RQI only)
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• Experience with pre-op, intra-op, and post-op care for adult, adolescent, and geriatric patients
• Ability to float between hospital and surgery center and adapt to different perioperative environments
• Strong communication, teamwork, critical thinking skills, and commitment to patient safety and infection prevention

Responsibilities / Perioperative Duties

• Provide high-quality perioperative and intraoperative nursing care as an OR RN / surgical nurse
• Perform pre-operative assessments, document findings, and prepare patients for surgery
• Assist with surgical procedures, maintain sterile field, and support the surgical team during operations
• Monitor patient status intra-op and post-op; implement individualized care plans and evaluate patient progress
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including surgeons, anesthesiologists, and perioperative staff to optimize patient outcomes
• Educate patients and families on post-operative care, discharge instructions, and recovery planning
• Participate in on-call rotation (weekday and weekend coverage as scheduled) and float assignments between sites
• Maintain compliance with infection control, safety protocols, and perioperative quality improvement initiatives
• Engage in ongoing professional development as a perioperative/travel nurse
