Cardiac Stepdown Registered Nurse (RN) – 13-Week Travel Assignment | Morgantown, WV

Cardiac Stepdown RN (Travel) – Morgantown, WV | 13-week assignment. Immediate opening for an experienced Cardiac RN with ACLS, BLS, NIHSS and EPIC experience to join a Heart & Vascular Institute caring for complex cardiac and vascular patients.

Job Details – Travel RN / Cardiac RN

• Location: Morgantown, WV 26506 (West Virginia travel nursing)
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Start Date: April 18, 2026
• Setting: 32-bed Heart & Vascular Institute (22 Stepdown, 12 Floor) – stepdown unit / telemetry
• Shift: Three 12-hour night shifts per week (includes holidays as scheduled; every other weekend required)
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,020 - $2,130
• Employment Type: Travel RN, W2 (travel nursing jobs, Cardiac RN opportunities)

Job Requirements / Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• NIHSS certification required
• Minimum 1 year recent cardiac or vascular nursing experience (stepdown/telemetry experience preferred)
• Experience titrating cardiac drips (Heparin, Amiodarone, Cardizem, TPA, Lasix, Dobutamine)
• Comfortable floating to sister units within the Heart & Vascular Institute
• Strong teamwork, communication, and clinical judgment skills for acute care cardiac nursing
• Ability to wear solid royal blue and white scrubs as required
• Proficiency with EPIC electronic health record preferred

Key Responsibilities – Cardiac Stepdown Nursing

• Provide high-quality nursing care to post-op cardiac and vascular surgery patients and patients with complex cardiac conditions
• Monitor hemodynamics, interpret cardiac rhythms, and titrate cardiac drips per protocol in a stepdown/telemetry setting
• Manage advanced cardiac therapies and respond rapidly to changes in patient status
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including charge nurses, physicians, and clinical associates to coordinate patient care
• Document patient care and assessments accurately in EPIC
• Participate in unit orientation, continuing education, and quality improvement initiatives to support clinical excellence
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies, dress code, and safety standards
