Travel Nursing Job Details
- Location: Albany, GA 31701 (Albany, Georgia – Southwest GA)
- Position: Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – Progressive Care Unit / Cardiac Stepdown / Telemetry RN
- Assignment Length: 17 weeks (Start: 5/11/2026 – End: 9/7/2026)
- Setting: Acute Care – Cardiac Stepdown (PCU)
- Shift: 12-hour days
- Guaranteed Hours: 48 hours per week
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,860 – $1,960
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Charting System: MEDITECH (documentation & electronic charting)
- Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:5
Required Qualifications – PCU RN / Stepdown / Telemetry
- Minimum 2 years recent Stepdown/PCU or telemetry experience in an acute care hospital
- Active RN license (compact license accepted where applicable)
- BLS and ACLS (American Heart Association) required
- NIHSS certification preferred
- Proven ability to read and interpret telemetry strips and cardiac rhythms
- Comfortable with fast patient turnover and floating to ICU (stepdown patients only unless ICU experience)
- Compliance with facility dress code: Caribbean Blue scrubs, natural hair color, no fake nails or shellac, no facial piercings, no visible tattoos
- Must reside at least 75 miles from the facility (per driver's license) to qualify for this travel assignment
PCU RN Responsibilities – Cardiac Stepdown Nursing
- Provide high-quality nursing care to cardiac stepdown and telemetry patients, including post-op cardiovascular and thoracic surgery patients
- Monitor and titrate cardiac drips (e.g., Cardizem, amiodarone, dobutamine, dopamine, heparin)
- Manage respiratory support including BiPAP, CPAP, high-flow oxygen, and Vapotherm
- Interpret telemetry and cardiac rhythm strips and respond appropriately
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team: hospitalists, intensivists, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and PICC team (24/7 support)
- Participate in rapid admissions and discharges; average census 32–38 patients
- Float to ICU as needed (stepdown patients only unless you have ICU experience)
- Maintain accurate documentation using MEDITECH and follow hospital policies, attendance, and holiday requirements
