Job Requirements / Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of Labor & Delivery RN experience; 2+ years of travel nursing experience preferred
- Active RN license (Florida RN license or compact state license accepted)
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP required; PALS required (may be obtained within 30 days of start)
- AWHONN certification preferred (can be completed onsite)
- Experience across L&D, postpartum, nursery, and Mother/Baby (perinatal and postpartum care)
- Must be flexible to float to other units as needed
- AHCA clearance required for Florida placements
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive Labor & Delivery nursing care during antepartum, intrapartum, immediate postpartum, and neonatal phases
- Perform mother and newborn assessments, monitor fetal status, and support safe deliveries and neonatal stabilization
- Apply the nursing process in accordance with the state Nurse Practice Act and hospital policies
- Demonstrate critical thinking, clinical judgment, and leadership in planning and delivering safe patient care
- Maintain current clinical competencies through continuing education and required certifications
- Delegate care and provide direction/supervision to assigned personnel based on staff education and experience
- Float to other units as facility needs require, supporting broader hospital nursing teams
