• Position: Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – Med/Surg Telemetry / Tele RN
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Start Date: May 19, 2026
• End Date: August 18, 2026
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,750 – $1,840
• Shift: Night shifts, 12 hours (18:45 – 07:15). Facility may consider either 3x12-hour shifts (36 hours/week) or 4x12-hour shifts (straight 48 hours/week) depending on staffing needs.
• Hours per Week: 36 (facility may consider 36/48 alternating or straight 48 hours)
• Unit: 6W Ortho / Neuro (Med/Surg Tele)
• Type: Travel, On-Site (travel nursing job, travel RN assignment)

Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas (TX RN)
• Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg Telemetry (Med/Surg Tele) RN experience required
• BLS certification (required)
• NIHSS certification (required prior to start) — experience with stroke assessment preferred
• Travel nursing experience strongly preferred (prior travel RN assignments a plus)
• Cerner (EHR) charting experience preferred
• Clinical skills: telemetry monitoring, medication administration, IV therapy, patient assessment, documentation
• Must be willing to float to other Med/Surg/Telemetry units as assigned
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions and declinations allowed)
• Local candidates within 50 miles not accepted (position targeted to travel nurses)

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality patient care on a busy Med/Surg Telemetry unit with up to 6:1 nurse-to-patient ratios
• Continuously monitor and assess telemetry patients, interpret cardiac rhythms, and respond to changes in condition
• Administer medications safely, manage IVs and lines, and perform treatments per unit protocols
• Accurately document nursing assessments, interventions, and patient responses in Cerner or hospital EHR
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (physicians, therapists, case management) to develop and implement patient care plans
• Float to other Med/Surg/Tele units as needed to support hospital staffing and maintain continuity of care
• Participate in orientation, unit-specific training, and ongoing professional development
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and infection control guidelines
