Job Details — Cardiac ICU Travel Nurse (New Haven, CT)
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,980 - $2,080
- Employment Type: Travel Contract / Travel RN
- Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 5/29/2026, End: 8/28/2026)
- Setting: Short Term Acute Care — Cardiac ICU (14 beds)
- Shift: 12-hour night shifts (19:00 - 07:00), 3 shifts per week
- Patient Ratio: 1:2 (Days/Nights/Weekends)

Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience (1.5 years considered from Level I trauma centers or large hospitals)
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license — Connecticut (CT) license required; must apply prior to submission
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications; NIHSS certification required
- Hands-on experience with PA catheters (Swan-Ganz) and common critical care procedures
- Comfortable floating between ICU and PCU as needed
- First-time travel nurses welcome — travel nurse friendly assignment
- Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)
- One professional reference required
Key Responsibilities — Cardiac & Critical Care Nursing
- Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with complex cardiac and vascular diagnoses
- Manage patients with STEMI/NSTEMI, cardiogenic shock, unstable dysrhythmias, advanced heart failure, and post-cardiac arrest
- Perform airway management, IV drip titration, medication titration per protocol, and cardiac rhythm recognition
- Care for patients with multisystem organ dysfunction and provide comprehensive critical care nursing interventions
- Monitor and manage PA catheters (Swan-Ganz) with onsite review and training provided
- Respond rapidly to admissions, transfers, and high patient turnover in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
- Float to ICU and PCU units as needed to support unit staffing
