• Shift: Night shifts, 3x12-hour (18:50 – 07:20)
• Hours per Week: 36

Required Qualifications — Labor & Delivery RN / L&D Nurse

• Minimum 2 years recent Labor & Delivery RN experience (3 years preferred); perinatal nursing experience highly valued
• Active RN license (Maryland or compact state)
• C-EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring) through NCC — required
• BLS, NRP, STABLE certifications — required
• ACLS certification — preferred
• Scrub experience and surgical assist (C-section) — preferred
• First-time travelers accepted — travel nurse friendly facility
• Ability to float to Mother/Baby and scrub roles as needed (couplet care, postpartum/newborn assessment)
• Call required: 2 shifts per 6-week schedule; every other weekend required
• Two supervisor references required

Responsibilities — Labor & Delivery Nursing / Perinatal Care

• Provide comprehensive labor, delivery, and immediate postpartum care for mothers and newborns in a fast-paced L&D unit
• Perform electronic fetal monitoring (EFM), maternal assessments, and newborn APGAR scoring
• Assist with high-risk deliveries, cesarean sections, and sterile speculum exams; scrub and assist in the OR as needed
• Administer blood products and medications per protocol; follow ACLS/NRP guidelines when indicated
• Support breastfeeding, lactation education, and couplet care for mother and baby
• Float between Labor & Delivery and Mother/Baby units; collaborate with postpartum and neonatal teams
• Document care accurately using Cerner charting system (EMR)
• Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams including IV therapy, respiratory therapy, radiology, and pharmacy
• Maintain compliance with facility- and unit-specific training, competencies, and perinatal safety protocols
