Med/Surg Registered Nurse (RN) – 12-hour night shift, 13-week travel assignment in Decatur, Texas (76234). Telemetry experience required. Join a supportive Med/Surg travel nursing team near the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex.

• Setting: Medical/Surgical Unit (4th & 5th Floors, Main Campus)
• Assignment Type: 13-week Travel Contract
• Duration: March 16, 2026 – June 15, 2026
• Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,350 – $1,420
• Weekend Shifts: Required
• Floating: May float to Inpatient Rehab, ED, or PCU as needed (within scope)

Qualifications / Job Requirements

• Active RN license (valid for assignment in Texas)
• Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg nursing experience
• Telemetry experience required (cardiac rhythm recognition preferred)
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Strong time management, prioritization, and teamwork skills
• Preferred skills: IV starts, experience with post-op care and common Med/Surg procedures

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality patient care to Medical/Surgical patients with typical ratios of 5:1 or 6:1
• Monitor patients using remote telemetry, capnography, Alaris IV pumps, glucometers, and dynamaps
• Perform clinical documentation and charting using Alterra (Allscripts) EMR
• Assist with and provide care for common surgical and diagnostic procedures: cholecystectomy, appendectomy, colectomy, paracentesis, thoracentesis, heart catheterizations, orthopedic trauma repairs, and joint replacements
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members including RNs, LVNs, PCTs, and charge nurses
• Float to other units as needed within scope of practice (Inpatient Rehab, ED, PCU)
• Maintain a positive, flexible, and team-oriented approach to patient care
