• Shift: 12-hour nights (2:30 PM – 3:00 AM)
• Hours per Week: 36 guaranteed
• Unit: Emergency Department (64 beds; acute, trauma, psych, pediatric areas)

Job Requirements / Qualifications

• Minimum 2+ years of Emergency Department RN experience, including pediatric emergency nursing
• Active New York RN license (NURSYS verification required)
• Current certifications: AHA ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIHSS, TNCC
• Experience with EPIC EMR strongly preferred
• Charge nurse capability highly preferred; demonstrated leadership in ED settings a plus
• Skills checklist matching Emergency Department specialty
• Up-to-date resume documenting travel and ED experience
• Valid driver’s license with matching address
• Ability and willingness to float to other units as needed
• Uniform: Navy blue scrubs required

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality emergency nursing care across the lifespan — newborns, pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics
• Triage and manage common ED diagnoses: stroke, sepsis, trauma, myocardial infarction, cardiac arrest, and respiratory failure
• Participate in code blue, rapid response, stroke protocols, and sepsis management following hospital standards
• Use specialty ED equipment including Rapid Infusor and Arctic Sun; competent in emergency procedures and monitoring
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (physicians, respiratory therapists, social work, and specialty services) to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in EPIC and comply with hospital policies and quality metrics
• Float to other units and perform charge nurse duties as assigned
