Sterile Processing Tech Job Details
- Position: Sterile Processing Technician (CSPD / CRCST) – Travel
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,080 - $1,160
- Location: Olympia, WA 98506 (Olympia healthcare / Washington travel jobs)
- Facility Type: Short Term Acute Care Hospital (hospital sterile processing)
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks (June 1, 2026 – August 31, 2026)
- Shift: 5x8-hour evening shifts (Mon–Fri, 1:00 PM – 9:30 PM)
- Hours per Week: 40
- Charting / EMR: EPIC
- On-Call: Not required
- Orientation: Provided
Required Qualifications – Sterile Processing Technician (CSPD / CRCST)
- Minimum 1 year of sterile processing experience in a hospital or surgical setting (2 years preferred)
- Required certification: CBSPD or CRCST (HSPA, formerly IAHCSMM)
- Experience with charting/EMR systems (EPIC experience preferred)
- Ability to provide 2 professional references covering at least 1 year within the last 3 years
- Travel candidates only (local travelers within 50 miles not eligible)
- Completion of required modules pre-start and annually
Key Responsibilities – Central Sterile / CSPD
- Clean, disinfect, and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment, including crash carts, IV pumps, and PCA pumps
- Perform high-level disinfection (HLD) and operate washers and sterilizers
- Assemble surgical sets/trays; ensure proper selection, wrapping, and labeling of materials
- Conduct sterilization wrapping procedures and maintain accurate documentation
- Test and monitor steam sterilization, including immediate-use steam sterilization (IUSS)
- Use and interpret biological and chemical indicators to maintain compliance and patient safety
- Support multiple surgical specialties: ENT, General, OB/GYN, Orthopedics, Plastics, and Urology
