Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,750 - $2,890 (competitive travel nurse pay)
• Location: Winfield, IL (60190) — Chicago area cardiovascular nursing jobs
• Contract Duration: 12 weeks (May 18, 2026 – August 10, 2026)
• Shift: 4x10-hour day shifts (07:00 – 17:30)
• Hours per Week: 40
• On Call: 90 hours CV specialty call required
• Weekend Requirement: Yes (call shifts may include weekends)
• Patient Age Groups: Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics
• Unit: Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) — CVOR travel nurse / perioperative nursing role

Job Requirements / Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) accepted
• Current State of Illinois Registered Professional Nurse license (must be in hand)
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• CNOR certification preferred (perioperative/CV specialty credential)
• 1 year direct operating room (OR) experience required
• Travel RN experience required (previous travel nurse assignments preferred)
• COVID-19 and Flu vaccines required (medical exemptions only for COVID-19)

Responsibilities

• Provide expert perioperative nursing care in the cardiovascular operating room, assisting with thoracic, pediatric, and sub-acute cardiovascular surgical cases
• Monitor and manage patients throughout surgical procedures to ensure safety and optimal outcomes as a CVOR RN
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (surgeons, anesthesiologists, perfusionists, and perioperative staff) to deliver high-quality patient care
• Participate in on-call rotation and respond promptly to urgent surgical needs
• Maintain accurate documentation, surgical counts, and adhere to hospital protocols and AORN standards
• Support patient and family education regarding surgical procedures, intraoperative expectations, and recovery
