Job Details – Travel Nurse / L&D RN

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,000 - $2,100 (competitive travel nurse pay)
• Location: Louisville, KY 40207 — Kentucky nursing jobs, Louisville healthcare
• Assignment Duration: 13 weeks (May 24, 2026 – August 22, 2026)
• Shift: 12 Hour Nights – Night Shift (6:45pm – 7:15am), every other weekend — travel RN schedule
• Hours per Week: 36 (3x12 hour shifts)
• Employment Type: Travel (Travel Nurse / Contract RN)
• Unit: Labor and Delivery (L&D, maternal-newborn care)

Job Requirements – Labor & Delivery RN Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of acute care RN experience (Labor & Delivery preferred) — L&D nurse, delivery room, postpartum experience a plus
• Active Kentucky RN license at time of submission (compact license not accepted unless Kentucky verifies)
• Current BLS, ACLS, NRP, and EFM (electronic fetal monitoring) certifications required
• Epic EMR experience (electronic medical records / charting)
• Nursing Diploma or Associate’s Degree (ASN) or equivalent
• English proficiency (read, write, speak)

Responsibilities – Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse

• Perform patient assessments and reassessments per policy and as warranted by patient condition; provide maternal and neonatal assessments
• Initiate, prioritize, and implement individualized plans of care; collaborate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams
• Monitor and document responses to clinical interventions, including fetal monitoring and maternal vital signs
• Facilitate and provide education specific to patient and family needs during their stay and at discharge (postpartum education, newborn care)
• Delegate tasks to licensed and non-licensed personnel; serve as mentor and preceptor to new staff and travel nurses
• Promote teamwork, quality improvement, and regulatory compliance in an L&D setting
• Participate in unit goals, performance improvement activities, and cost-effective care initiatives
• Ensure a safe, clean, and secure hospital environment for all patients and families
• Assess and anticipate discharge needs; develop relationships with families to support patient advocacy
• Demonstrate cultural competence and prioritize tasks for patients with complex needs
