Sterile Processing Technician (CRCST/CSPDT) – Night Shift – Odessa, TX. 13-week travel contract at an acute care, Trauma Level II community hospital. Join our Central Sterile/SSD team to ensure safe instrument reprocessing and support surgical services in West Texas.

Job Details – Sterile Processing Tech (Travel Contract)

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,010 – $1,090
• Location: Odessa, TX 79761 — Texas sterile processing jobs / Odessa healthcare jobs
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (May 19, 2026 – August 18, 2026)
• Shift: Night Shift, Monday–Friday, 10:30 PM – 7:00 AM (8 Hour Nights)
• Hours per Week: 40
• Call Requirement: 1 weekend call per month
• Orientation: 16 hours
• Setting: Acute care hospital – Trauma Level II; Central Sterile / CSSD supporting OR with daily census of 25–30 cases
• Travel Role Note: Local candidates within 50 miles not accepted — this is a travel contract position

Job Requirements – Sterile Processing / Central Sterile

• Minimum 2 years of sterile processing experience in a hospital Central Sterile/SSD (travel experience preferred)
• Certification required: CRCST (HSPA) or CSPDT (CBSPD)
• BLS (AHA) preferred
• Experience with Cerner charting system preferred
• Proficiency with instrument tracking and reprocessing technology: Censitrac, Steris washers/sterilizers, VPRO max, ultrasonic cleaners, Medivators
• Experience supporting a Trauma Level II community hospital required
• Able to process instruments for all patient age groups: neonates, infants, adolescents, adults, geriatrics

Responsibilities – Central Sterile Technician / Sterile Processing Tech

• Perform cleaning, disinfection, inspection, assembly, packaging, and sterilization of surgical instruments and medical equipment
• Assemble sets/trays accurately and ensure proper selection, wrapping, and labeling for sterile storage and OR use
• Operate and monitor Steris washers/sterilizers, VPRO max, ultrasonic cleaners, and Medivators
• Use Censitrac instrument tracking tool for accurate documentation and tray lifecycle management
• Conduct biological and chemical indicator testing, steam sterilization monitoring, and immediate-use steam sterilization (IUSS) following policy
• Maintain equipment documentation, follow infection prevention standards, and comply with regulatory guidelines (AAMI, OSHA)
• Support surgical services and sterile processing workflow for an average of 25–30 cases per day
• Participate in weekend on-call rotation (1 weekend per month) as part of the travel team
