Qualifications – Labor & Delivery Nurse Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Pennsylvania
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience in Labor & Delivery or obstetric nursing
• BLS certification required
• Strong clinical assessment skills and ability to work independently in a fast-paced hospital setting
• Proficiency with fetal monitoring (EFM) and maternal/fetal assessments
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and patient education skills

Responsibilities – L&D RN Duties

• Provide compassionate, evidence-based care to patients in the Labor & Delivery unit as a Labor and Delivery nurse
• Monitor maternal and fetal status throughout labor and delivery using electronic fetal monitoring and clinical assessment
• Assist with vaginal and cesarean deliveries and support physicians and midwives during procedures
• Educate patients and families on labor, delivery, postpartum care, and newborn expectations
• Maintain accurate documentation, uphold patient safety standards, and follow hospital protocols
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team in a busy inpatient labor and delivery setting
