Med/Surg Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) – Philadelphia, PA. 13-week local Med-Surg Tele RN role in University City with a medical oncology focus; BSN required.

Join a dynamic and expanding Med/Surg Telemetry (telemetry nurse) team in the heart of Philadelphia. We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) with strong medical-surgical and telemetry experience to provide exceptional, patient-centered care in a fast-paced acute care setting. This is an excellent Pennsylvania nursing job for nurses who want to work on a growing unit with a strong focus on medical oncology in University City.

Job Details

• Location: Philadelphia, PA 19104 (University City) – local Med-Surg Tele RN position in a lively, diverse area with great dining and cultural attractions
• Contract Length: 13 weeks with potential for extension
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,000 - $2,100 (competitive weekly pay for Philadelphia nursing jobs)
• Hours per Week: 36 hours
• Employment Type: Local, on-site Registered Nurse (RN)
• Interview Process: Microsoft Teams virtual interviews
• Schedule Requirements: Required to work at least one summer holiday and every other weekend

Job Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg Telemetry nursing experience (Med-Surg Tele RN / telemetry nurse)
• BSN required (no exceptions)
• Experience with medical oncology and telemetry care (oncology nursing preferred)
• Ability to test out on Telemetry courses / telemetry monitoring competencies
• Current and active RN license in Pennsylvania
• Strong clinical assessment, acute care, and communication skills

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality medical-surgical and telemetry nursing care to patients, including those with medical oncology needs
• Manage a patient load of 3-4:1 (up to 12 beds with potential expansion) as a Med-Surg Tele RN
• Perform telemetry monitoring, assess cardiac/medical status, and respond promptly to changes in condition
• Document patient progress accurately and communicate findings with the interdisciplinary care team
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and ancillary staff to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Participate in unit expansion efforts and adapt to evolving patient care needs
• Work every other weekend and at least one summer holiday as part of your commitment to patient care
