Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,730 – $1,860
• Location: Portsmouth, VA 23707 (Hampton Roads area)
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (June 8, 2026 – September 5, 2026)
• Shift: 12?hour nights (9pm – 7am), Monday–Friday with call and holiday rotations
• Hours per Week: 36

Required Qualifications (Radiology Technologist / X?Ray Tech)

• Minimum 2 years hospital experience as a Radiology Technologist or Radiologic Technologist
• Recent fluoroscopy (Fluoro) experience and ability to work independently
• OR and C?Arm experience required (Fluoroscopy tech experience preferred)
• ARRT certification and registration (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) — required
• BLS (Basic Life Support) from the American Heart Association — required
• Associate’s degree from an ARRT?accredited program preferred
• State licensure where applicable (preferred/required by Virginia)
• Previous travel technologist or travel radiology experience preferred
• Experience with EPIC EHR and PACS systems preferred

Key Responsibilities – Radiology / Imaging Department

• Obtain patient clinical history and confirm appropriate lab work and documentation for licensed practitioners
• Position and immobilize patients to best demonstrate anatomic areas of interest while ensuring patient comfort and safety
• Apply radiation protection principles (ALARA) to minimize exposure to patients, staff, and self
• Perform radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures by selecting and operating imaging equipment and accessories
• Verify informed consent and complete pre? and post?procedure documentation in the imaging record
• Assist physicians and licensed practitioners with fluoroscopic and specialized radiography procedures using aseptic techniques as needed
• Identify, prepare, and administer contrast agents/medications as prescribed and document administration
• Evaluate image quality, document patient dose exposures, and communicate findings to the radiology team
• Collaborate professionally with physicians, technologists, nursing staff, patients, and families in a hospital setting
• Participate in call and holiday rotations; cover add?on cases for OR/Fluoro or overnight technologist needs
