Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,130 – $1,210
- Location: Lancaster, PA 17602 — Lancaster healthcare & Pennsylvania hospital jobs
- Setting: Hospital / Central Sterile (CSPD)
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks
- Hours per Week: 40
- Shift: Night shift, 11:00 PM – 7:30 AM, Tuesday through Saturday
- On-Site Position: Required
Qualifications / Job Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Sterile Processing Technician (central sterile / CSPD)
- Specialized experience processing orthopedic (Ortho) and neurosurgical (Neuro) instruments
- Certification as a Sterile Processing Technician required (e.g., CRCST, CBSPD or equivalent)
- Strong knowledge of sterilization techniques, instrument assembly, and infection control standards
- Travel experience highly preferred — experience with contract or travel sterile processing technician positions a plus
- Bilingual or additional certifications in sterile processing are favorable
Key Responsibilities
- Perform decontamination, inspection, sterilization, and assembly of surgical instruments with emphasis on Ortho and Neuro specialties
- Operate and maintain sterilization equipment (autoclaves, sterilizers) and follow hospital sterilization protocols
- Ensure compliance with infection control, hospital policies, and industry standards for central sterile processing
- Maintain accurate records of instrument processing, sterilization cycles, and inventory control
- Support efficient operating room (OR) turnover by collaborating closely with surgical teams and OR staff
- Identify, report, and troubleshoot equipment or instrument issues promptly to minimize OR delays
