Remote Patient Care Coordinator supporting Penn Medicine ambulatory practices — work-from-home patient services role based in Philadelphia, PA (19104). First day onsite for orientation and computer setup at 3535 Market Street. - Weekly Estimated Pay: $750 - $810
- Location: Remote (first day onsite in Philadelphia, PA 19104)
- Hours per Week: 40
- Shift: 8-hour days, Monday - Friday (shift preferences between 7am–7pm considered)
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Setting: Clinic / High-volume Call Center supporting ambulatory practices
Key Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree may be considered in lieu of experience
- Minimum 1 year experience in a call center, medical office front desk, receptionist, or patient service representative role
- Working knowledge of EMR / electronic medical record systems preferred
- Strong computer skills, familiarity with medical terminology, and ability to remain at the computer for the entire shift
- Excellent verbal communication, customer service skills, and ability to work in a metrics-driven environment
Responsibilities / Patient Services
- Answer 50–80 inbound calls per day supporting Penn Medicine ambulatory practices in a high-volume call center
- Provide patient registration, appointment scheduling, referrals, pre-authorizations, and general care coordination
- Document patient encounters thoroughly and route information through the EMR; ensure accurate data entry and follow-up
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of insurance requirements, billing procedures, and eligibility
- Communicate patient needs clearly and empathetically to clinical teams and external partners
- Follow department protocols, manage service recovery efforts, and meet quality assurance standards
- Clear call queues prior to clocking out and adhere to productivity and quality metrics
- Participate in onsite orientation and computer setup on your first day at 3535 Market Street, Philadelphia
