- Duration: 13 weeks
- Shift: 12-hour nights (7p-7a); weekends as needed — NICU night shift (explicitly 12-hour duration)
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,020 - $2,130 (estimated)
- Floating: May float to other local hospital network sites (Meridian, Nampa, Boise) within primary skill set or as a sitter
- Scrubs: Hospital-issued; must change at beginning and end of shift
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of recent NICU RN experience — strong neonatal nursing background
- Active RN license (state-appropriate credentials required)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) Certification
- STABLE Certification
- Experience attending deliveries, including C-sections, and stabilizing newborns
- Ability to float to L&D, Postpartum, or Antepartum units as needed
- Completion of unit-specific orientation and EPIC/Curio assignments prior to start
- Compliance with hospital dress code (no acrylic or gel nails)
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, compassionate neonatal nursing care to neonates (32 weeks and greater) in a Level II NICU
- Serve as the NICU nurse for all C-sections and high-risk deliveries on assigned shifts
- Stabilize newborns, perform initial assessments, and provide ongoing monitoring and interventions
- Manage infants with respiratory distress, hypoglycemia, neonatal abstinence syndrome (NAS), and other common NICU diagnoses
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary neonatal team including Neonatal Nurse Practitioners (NNPs), resource nurses, respiratory therapists, and CNAs
- Float to other units or local hospital network sites as needed, within your skill set
- Maintain accurate documentation using the EPIC electronic health record
- Adhere to hospital policies and procedures to ensure patient safety and high-quality care
