Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Jersey or compact state eligibility, if applicable
• Strong knowledge of perioperative nursing standards, sterile technique, surgical safety, and infection prevention practices
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, high-acuity surgical setting
• Excellent communication, critical thinking, patient advocacy, and teamwork skills
• BLS certification preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to patients before, during, and after surgical procedures
• Prepare the operating room, instruments, supplies, and equipment for scheduled cases
• Maintain a sterile field and support adherence to patient safety and infection control protocols
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, surgical technologists, and perioperative staff to ensure efficient workflow
• Monitor patients' status throughout the perioperative process and respond appropriately to clinical changes
• Accurately document patient care, surgical activities, and procedural details
• Assist with patient positioning, specimen handling, and room turnover as needed
• Promote a positive patient experience through compassionate care and clear communication
