• Hours: 36 hours per week guaranteed
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend

• Floating: May float to other units within skill level as needed

Job Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg Telemetry nursing experience
• Active Ohio RN license or compact RN license
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification
• Current American Heart Association ACLS certification
• Strong telemetry knowledge and the ability to identify and interpret heart rhythms
• Competency with cardiac medications, including Cardizem, Amiodarone, Nitro, Heparin, Cardine, Dobutamine, Lasix, and Bumex
• Demonstrated critical thinking skills with the ability to recognize changes in patient condition and intervene appropriately
• Knowledge of stroke signs and symptoms and the ability to respond quickly to changes in status
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Reliable attendance and punctuality for all scheduled shifts
• Recent specialty skills checklist and work history required

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care using age-specific criteria
• Deliver safe, effective care to assigned patients throughout the shift
• Monitor telemetry patients and interpret cardiac rhythms accurately
• Administer and titrate cardiac medications according to clinical protocols and provider orders
• Recognize early signs of patient decline and take prompt action in the acute care setting
• Identify stroke symptoms and escalate concerns without delay
• Support and direct non-RN staff, including LPNs, PCTs, and Unit Secretaries, as needed
• Maintain clear, timely communication with the care team to support quality patient outcomes
• Work collaboratively in a fast-paced hospital nursing environment while maintaining professionalism and compassion
