• Position: Telemetry Registered Nurse (Travel RN)
• Employment Type: Travel Nursing Assignment
• Setting: Acute care cardiac telemetry unit
• Location: Parkersburg, West Virginia 26101
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: 12-hour night shifts
• Hours per Week: 36
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,040 - $2,150
• Scheduling: Weekends as scheduled; self-scheduling may be available based on unit needs
• Charting System: Epic

Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience preferred
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Experience reading cardiac rhythm strips and monitoring telemetry patients
• Comfortable caring for post-cardiac cath, CHF, COPD, arrhythmia, and post-pacemaker patients
• Ability to titrate Heparin drips and manage cardiac telemetry patients safely
• Strong teamwork, communication, critical thinking, and time-management skills
• Willingness to float within skill set as needed

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality patient care for telemetry patients with a variety of cardiac and medical-surgical conditions
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and respond appropriately to changes in patient status
• Administer medications and manage select titratable therapies per unit protocols
• Complete admissions, discharges, assessments, and documentation in a timely manner
• Collaborate with charge nurses, monitor techs, PCTs, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team
• Support a busy acute care unit with a strong focus on patient safety, efficiency, and teamwork
• Float to other appropriate areas within scope and skill set when needed
• Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record using Epic
