Job Details

• Position: OR Registered Nurse (Operating Room RN)
• Employment Type: Travel Nursing
• Setting: Acute care operating room / surgical center
• Location: Wheeling, WV 26003
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,160 - $2,270
• Shift Duration: 12-hour rotating shifts
• Schedule Options: 3 12-hour shifts or 4 10-hour shifts per week
• Weekend/Call: 1 scheduled weekend day and 1 second-call weekend day per 4-week schedule; rotating weekends; call response time within 30 minutes
• Charting: Allscripts, with EPIC go-live planned
• Cases: Approximately 55-70 cases per day across 15 suites

Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse license
• At least 1 year of OR nursing or perioperative nursing experience
• BLS certification required
• Strong IV skills are a must
• Experience with surgical care and robotics preferred
• Comfortable working in a high-volume operating room environment
• Ability to assist with pre-op care as part of the surgical center workflow
• Willingness to provide a copy of an unexpired driver’s license at submission
• Ability to work rotating days, afternoons, or midnight shifts as needed

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, high-quality nursing care in the operating room and surgical center setting
• Support pre-operative patient care and preparation for a wide range of surgical procedures
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia, and perioperative team members to keep cases running efficiently
• Assist with same-day and overnight surgical cases
• Maintain accurate documentation and follow established charting workflows
• Support a smooth patient flow throughout the perioperative process
• Float to the OR holding area as needed
• Adapt quickly to changing unit needs and maintain professionalism in a busy clinical environment
