Labor & Delivery RN Job Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery RN experience required
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications required
• AWHONN Intermediate or CEFM required
• Experience caring for laboring patients and newborns immediately after delivery
• Experience circulating and recovering C-sections preferred
• Strong communication, teamwork, and adaptability in a travel assignment setting

Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide safe, high-quality nursing care to laboring, postpartum, and newborn patients
• Support vaginal deliveries, C-sections, D&Cs, cerclage procedures, epidural anesthesia, and tub labor
• Monitor maternal and fetal status and respond appropriately to changes in condition
• Care for the newborn immediately after delivery
• Assist with circulating and recovery duties for C-section patients
• Collaborate with physicians, techs, and unit staff to support smooth patient flow
• Maintain accurate documentation and follow unit protocols and patient care standards
• Float as needed per unit policy, with traveler assignments prioritized first
