ICU Registered Nurse Job Details

- Employment Type: Travel Nursing Assignment

- Duration: 13 weeks
- Weekly Hours: 36 hours per week
- Shift Duration: 12-hour nights
- Schedule: Every 3rd weekend and holiday
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,800 - $1,890
- Unit: Intensive Care / Coronary Care
ICU RN Job Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Current Massachusetts RN license
- Minimum 1 year of nursing experience required
- Medical-surgical experience preferred
- Previous telemetry experience required
- ICU experience preferred
- ACLS upon hire or active BLS with AHA ACLS obtained within 60 days of hire
- CCRN certification preferred
- Strong critical thinking, teamwork, and communication skills
Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care in accordance with established standards and protocols
- Provide safe, high-quality care to critically ill patients in a fast-paced ICU setting
- Administer medications, intravenous therapy, vasoactive drips, and anticoagulation therapy per policy and physician orders
- Monitor cardiac rhythms, interpret EKG changes, and respond promptly to clinical changes
- Support ventilated and intubated patients, including suctioning, troubleshooting, and weaning support
- Interpret arterial blood gases, pulse oximetry, and hemodynamic data accurately
- Participate in post-operative monitoring and implement interventions for potential complications
- Complete timely documentation, medication reconciliation, and handoff reports
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team during daily rounds to coordinate care and promote continuity
- Promote patient safety, identify risks, and contribute to quality improvement efforts
