- Employment Type: Travel Nursing Assignment
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Shift: 12-hour nights
- Hours per Week: 36 hours
- Shift Pattern: Block schedule; 36 or 48 hours accepted
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,660 - $1,750
- Patient Ratio: 1:6 on nights
- Orientation: 24 hours
- Weekend Requirement: Approximately every other weekend
- Floating: Travelers should be open to floating as needed
Job Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of recent Registered Nurse experience required
- Previous medical-surgical nursing experience required; neuro med/surg experience preferred
- Active RN license in North Carolina or compact state eligibility
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications required
- NIHSS certification preferred
- Experience working with a 1:6 or 1:7 patient ratio preferred
- Strong teamwork mindset with a focus on patient safety and quality care
- Ability to adapt quickly, learn charge nurse responsibilities if needed, and support a collaborative clinical team
- EKG testing required prior to start
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality bedside care for adult and geriatric patients in a neuro-focused medical-surgical setting
- Monitor patients with general medicine and neurological conditions
- Perform assessments, administer medications, and manage IV therapy and telemetry as needed
- Interpret dysrhythmias and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition
- Use clinical judgment to prioritize care for a 6-patient assignment
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to support safe, coordinated patient care
- Document accurately in EPIC and communicate effectively using SBAR
- Maintain a professional, teamwork-driven approach in all interactions with patients and staff
- Support unit needs by floating when required and adapting to shifting patient acuity
