- Weekly Schedule: 3 shifts per week
- Shift Duration: 12-hour nights
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,910 - $2,010
- Unit Type: Progressive Care Unit / Stepdown / Stroke Unit
- Patient Population: Adults and geriatrics
Job Requirements
- Active RN license in the state of practice or compact license eligibility
- At least 1 year of registered nurse experience required
- BSN preferred
- BLS Basic Life Support or ACLS Advanced Cardiac Life Support preferred at hire; must obtain from approved source prior to direct patient care, and ACLS required within 6 months of hire
- NIHSS required
- NIH Stroke Certification preferred
- Neuro or stroke experience preferred
- Dysrhythmia exam required
- Ability to manage intermediate-level patients with cardiac drips
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care using the nursing process in a progressive care / stepdown setting
- Perform ongoing assessments, develop care plans, and evaluate patient outcomes
- Administer medications safely and in accordance with clinical policy
- Monitor and manage patients with changing cardiac and neurologic conditions
- Support patients with chest tubes, hemodynamic monitoring, and temporary pacing
- Respond confidently to rapid changes in patient status in a fast-paced hospital environment
- Collaborate closely with the interdisciplinary care team
- Educate patients and families while promoting quality, safety, and compassionate care
- Maintain a calm, professional presence in a high-acuity clinical setting
