Job Requirements

• Active RN license required
• Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience preferred or required for consideration
• Experience in perioperative, PACU, or outpatient surgical care is highly valued
• Strong assessment, communication, and documentation skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced surgical environment
• Comfort with IV therapy, patient education, and care coordination
• Familiarity with diagnostic measures such as labs, radiology, and EKG
• Experience supporting safe patient transfers and discharge processes

Responsibilities

• Assess patients and respond to physical, psychosocial, and spiritual needs
• Implement nursing care plans and communicate patient status to appropriate care team members
• Transcribe and implement physician orders accurately and efficiently
• Prepare patients for surgical procedures and complete final chart and checklist reviews
• Document patient care thoroughly and in a timely manner using electronic health records
• Educate patients and families on care plans, procedures, and discharge instructions
• Assist with PACU responsibilities when assigned, including airway management, pain control, and recovery monitoring
• Support float coverage as needed to maintain workflow and assist staff across areas
• Maintain awareness of anesthesia supplies, emergency equipment, and procedure room needs
• Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas for process improvement
