Job Requirements
- Active RN license required
- Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience preferred or required for consideration
- Experience in perioperative, PACU, or outpatient surgical care is highly valued
- Strong assessment, communication, and documentation skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced surgical environment
- Comfort with IV therapy, patient education, and care coordination
- Familiarity with diagnostic measures such as labs, radiology, and EKG
- Experience supporting safe patient transfers and discharge processes
Responsibilities
- Assess patients and respond to physical, psychosocial, and spiritual needs
- Implement nursing care plans and communicate patient status to appropriate care team members
- Transcribe and implement physician orders accurately and efficiently
- Prepare patients for surgical procedures and complete final chart and checklist reviews
- Document patient care thoroughly and in a timely manner using electronic health records
- Educate patients and families on care plans, procedures, and discharge instructions
- Assist with PACU responsibilities when assigned, including airway management, pain control, and recovery monitoring
- Support float coverage as needed to maintain workflow and assist staff across areas
- Maintain awareness of anesthesia supplies, emergency equipment, and procedure room needs
- Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas for process improvement
