Job Details

• Setting: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) / Step-Down / Progressive Critical Care
• Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse (Travel RN)
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Start Date: September 7, 2026
• Shift: 12-hour nights, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM
• Hours Per Week: 36
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,250 - $2,370
• Unit Focus: High-acuity adult medical and surgical patients
• Special Notes: Epic experience required; navy blue scrubs required; competency test required within 24 hours of submission

Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Minimum 1 year of recent nursing experience in a Progressive Care Unit (PCU), step-down, ICU, or similar high-acuity acute care setting
• Strong experience caring for medically fragile and surgically complex patients
• ACLS certification required
• Experience with Epic electronic medical record (EMR) system required
• Comfort with advanced hemodynamic monitoring and pressor titration protocols
• Ability to work night shifts and manage an average census of 3 high-acuity patients
• Competency test completion within 24 hours of submission

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, compassionate nursing care to progressive care patients with respiratory, neurological, infectious, endocrine, and post-surgical conditions
• Monitor and manage complex clinical situations including sepsis, respiratory failure, trauma, and multi-system dysfunction
• Administer and titrate medications and drips per protocol, including pressors, antihypertensives, sedatives, and thrombo-embolic agents
• Provide care for patients requiring advanced support such as HFNC, BiPAP/CPAP, arterial lines, CVP monitoring, and EVDs
• Collaborate closely with physicians, charge nurses, and interdisciplinary healthcare team members to support patient recovery and positive outcomes
• Maintain infection prevention standards and deliver high-quality bedside nursing care in a fast-paced hospital environment
