- Unit Focus: Adult intermediate care and cardiac stepdown patients
Job Requirements
- Active New York Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum of 2 years of IMCU, PCU, or comparable stepdown nursing experience
- Previous travel nursing experience required
- Current AHA BLS certification
- Current AHA ACLS certification
- Current NIHSS certification
- Experience using EPIC electronic medical record (EMR) system
- Resume and skills checklist aligned with specialty experience
- Ability to provide required licensure verification and submission documents
- Flexibility to work nights and float as needed
Responsibilities
- Deliver safe, high-quality nursing care to adult intermediate care and cardiac stepdown patients
- Monitor and manage patients with conditions such as MI, COPD, DKA, sepsis, trauma, and post-operative needs
- Care for patients requiring specialized support including temporary pacing, chest tubes, A-lines, BiPAP, and chronic vents
- Perform ongoing assessments, medication administration, and clinical interventions based on patient acuity
- Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary care team to support recovery and discharge planning
- Respond quickly to changing patient conditions and escalate concerns appropriately
- Document accurately in EPIC and maintain clear, timely communication throughout the shift
- Support patient safety, infection prevention, and quality care standards within the unit
