Job Requirements
- 2+ years of Med/Surg RN experience, including stroke stepdown experience
- Travel nursing experience required
- Active New York RN license
- Current AHA BLS certification
- NIHSS certification required or obtainable prior to start
- Epic EMR experience preferred
- Skills checklist matching the specialty
- Updated resume with relevant clinical and travel nurse experience
- Driver's license with address matching demographic information
- Nursys license verification for all active RN licenses
- RTO must be submitted at time of application
Responsibilities
- Provide safe, compassionate care for adult patients on a Med/Surg stroke stepdown unit
- Monitor and manage patients with stroke, altered mental status, renal conditions, dialysis needs, COPD, CHF, pneumonia, and other general medical-surgical diagnoses
- Support patients requiring isolation precautions and complex ongoing assessments
- Use specialty equipment such as IV pumps, NG tubes, and feeding tubes as needed
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to deliver timely interventions and support quality patient outcomes
- Maintain clear documentation and adapt to a fast-paced inpatient hospital environment
- Float to other units as needed based on department needs
