Registered Nurse Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum of 2 years of recent Med/Surg nursing experience required
- BLS certification required
- Epic experience within the last year required
- Accredited nursing degree from ACEN or CCNE required
- Ability to float as needed across the healthcare setting
- Solid black scrubs required
- Must be comfortable with a 1:5/6 patient ratio and frequent assignment changes
- Strong clinical judgment, adaptability, and communication skills
Med/Surg RN Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care to patients with medical and surgical needs
- Care for patients admitted for general surgery, colorectal, abdominal, urology, women’s health, gynecology, oncology, plastics, ENT, trauma, cardiothoracic, orthopedic, and spinal/neuro overflow
- Support patients with complex obstetrical-related conditions as assigned
- Perform assessments, medication administration, care planning, and ongoing patient monitoring
- Adapt quickly to changing patient assignments throughout the shift
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to promote safe, efficient, patient-centered outcomes
- Maintain accurate documentation in Epic and follow established unit standards
