This 13-week travel nursing assignment is ideal for a skilled postpartum RN who thrives in busy environments, values teamwork, and is confident caring for high-risk obstetric patients. Candidates should also be comfortable floating to nearby postpartum and labor & delivery units as needed.
Travel Nurse Job Details
- Position: Travel Registered Nurse – Mother/Baby
- Employment Type: Travel Nursing
- Location: Seattle, WA 98122
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks
- Shift Duration: 12-hour day shifts
- Shift Schedule: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
- Weekly Hours: 36 hours
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,830 - $1,930
- Start Date: September 14, 2026
- Setting: Postpartum / Couplet Care / Mother-Baby
- Float Requirement: Yes, to nearby postpartum and labor & delivery areas as needed
- Weekend Coverage: Required
Registered Nurse Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum of 2 years of recent Mother/Baby, postpartum, or high-risk obstetric nursing experience
- Previous travel nurse experience required
- Epic charting experience required
- Current BLS and NRP certifications required
- Experience with magnesium therapy, Pitocin, Foley catheter care, postpartum hemorrhage, and substance withdrawal care
- Strong experience caring for high-risk obstetric patients
- Ability to manage a standard assignment of 4 couplets
- Comfort working in a high-census, fast-moving postpartum environment
- Willingness to commit to scheduled holidays and required weekend coverage
Mother/Baby RN Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, evidence-based postpartum nursing care for mothers and newborns
- Monitor recovery following delivery and assess fundus, lochia, and perineal healing
- Administer and monitor medications and therapies including magnesium sulfate and Pitocin
- Support patients experiencing postpartum hemorrhage or substance withdrawal
- Deliver safe, attentive care for couplets in a busy postpartum and couplet care unit
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure coordinated patient care
- Float to nearby postpartum and labor & delivery units when needed
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in Epic
- Promote a calm, supportive environment for families during recovery and transition home
