Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience
• Behavioral health, psychiatric nursing, or mental health experience preferred
• Current BLS certification required
• Associate degree in nursing required
• Comfortable caring for adult, pediatric, and geriatric patients
• Ability to adapt to a fast-paced unit and float as needed
• Experience with Cerner is a plus

Psychiatric Nursing Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate nursing care to patients with behavioral health needs
• Care for patients with diagnoses such as schizophrenia, depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety, and substance use disorder
• Perform ongoing patient assessments, monitor progress, and communicate changes in condition
• Support de-escalation efforts and promote a therapeutic, structured environment
• Collaborate with shift supervisors and the interdisciplinary care team
• Document patient care accurately in the electronic health record (EHR)
• Maintain a professional, team-oriented approach while working with diverse age groups
